TEM TRAINING COURSE
“Fundamentals of Asbestos Analysis by Transmission Electron Microscopy”
Course Dates: May 16-18, 2023 – FULL
The course covers sample preparation, analysis and reporting for the AHERA (Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act) method, the ASTM “Test Method for Airborne Asbestos Concentration in Ambient and Indoor Atmospheres… by TEM Direct Transfer” (ASTM Method D6281) and the ASTM Standard Dust Count Method (ASTM Method D5755). Information about the standard methods for the analysis of drinking water, the ASTM standard dust mass method (ASTM Method D5756), the NIOSH 7402 and AEM bulk and soil analysis will also be provided.
Who Should Attend: Analysts and laboratory managers who are involved with the analysis of samples for asbestos fibers. A basic knowledge of microscopy is helpful, but not required.
Class Size: Limited to 6 students to allow considerable hands-on microscopy experience with the methods.
Cost: $1725 – Lab fees, course materials & lunches are included in the cost of the course.
