Environmental Choices Technical Supplement, 1992
Abstract:
A recent study of cleaning and athletic activities sheds light on the relationship between asbestos in surface dust and exposure to airborne asbestos. Specifically, a simulation was conducted of (a) playing basketball and tumbling and (b) dry sweeping and dusting at least partially derived from asbestos-containing acoustical plaster. Significant increases in airborne asbestos concentrations were observed during the simulations.
