Abstract:
Early transmission electron microscopy (TEM) had the capability of analyzing submicron-sized asbestos fibers by both morphology and electron diffraction characteristics. Using a TEM installed in 1960 and methods available in the early 1960s, a test showed that thin asbestos fibers could be identified and quantified.
