Our Approaches in Failure Analysis

Based on the type of product, our scientists will perform failure analysis using different types of equipment to identify the cause of failure. For example, a metallurgical failure analysis may include a wide range of electron microscopy, metallurgical evaluation, chemical analysis and/or nondestructive testing.

MVA Scientific Consultants’ failure testing team uses a combination of scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive x-ray capabilities, transmission electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared microscopy and optical profilometry to solve problems. We can obtain the micro-structural, elemental and molecular information necessary for a thorough investigation and to reveal the likely root cause of the failure. After the analysis, clients receive a comprehensive failure analysis report with all findings plainly stated.
